A day trip to Dundee, searching for something unique to capture—fire and water in a single shot. That was the goal.With my Drone packed, I jumped into Ned, my trusty Nissan, ready for the one-and-a-half-hour drive. There was just one problem—I hadn’t fully filled the petrol tank before departing. Not ideal, but I’d been in low-fuel situations before. I figured I’d be fine. I hoped, anyway.The drive was uncertain. I wasn’t even sure if I could access my chosen location or if I was technically allowed to be there. But that’s part of the adventure—pushing limits to get the shot.Arriving at my destination, I set up, determined to capture both fire and water in a single frame. The contrast of elements, raw and untamed, was exactly what I wanted. I took several shots, adjusting my angles and settings, making sure I had something worth the journey.As I packed up, reality hit—the fuel light was glowing at me. The drive back was tense. Every kilometer felt longer, every incline more daunting. I watched the gauge just sitting there on Empty, i was questioning if I’d make it.Finally, with Ned running on fumes, I rolled into a petrol station. Relief washed over me. Lesson learned—always fill the tank before an adventure.But in the end, the risk was worth it. I had my shot, a memory, and a reminder that some of the best moments come with a bit of uncertainty.
